TOPIC: Research and You…Come hear about Orlando Heart Research.

Representatives from Compass Research and Schlesinger & Associates will talk
about participating in a research study, what you need to know to find a study, be
a study subject and what happens with the information.

Directions: From Downtown – heading south on Orange Ave., turn right (west) onto
Gore St. Continue on Gore for 2 blocks. Turn right onto Lucerne Terrace. Use parking
lot on right hand side of Lucerne Terrace. You can park close to the building.

From I-4 heading west: Exit 82B Gore Street. Turn Left. Go to Lucerne Terrace (not at
light) turn left onto Lucerne Terrace.

From I-4 heading east: Exit 81BC, turn right onto Kaley St., turn left on Orange Ave.,
turn left at Gore St., go 2 blocks, turn right into parking lot.

Enter the building through the doors under the Red-Maroon Canopy. Follow signs to
Classroom # 1.

Blvd and Interlachen Ave. Parking is plentiful.

We will be meeting at the Family
Life Center in room 313 on the (3nd) floor. There is an elevator available.

This is our 6th year as the Orlando Chapter of Mended Hearts and we are
celebrating by having a catered dinner together. Call Claire Jones at 407-380-6042

The Mended Hearts, Inc. What is it?

                The Mended Hearts, Inc.  is an international, non-profit, self-help organization for those who have had any heart problems, their families, friends and interested persons. You need not to have had heart disease to become a member.

                We have grown to an international status, with 274 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Currently there are approximately 19000 members. The objectives of the Mended Hearts, Inc. are….

© to visit and encourage, with the approval of the physician, persons with heart disease.

© to distribute information of specific educational value to members and other persons with heart disease.

© to counsel and provide advice and services, where possible to families of patients experiencing heart problems.

© to establish a program of assistance to surgeons, physicians and hospital staff in their work with heart patients.

© to cooperate with other organizations in educational and research activities pertaining to heart illness.

© to establish and to assist in established rehabilitation programs to Mended Hearts and  their families.

© to plan and conduct suitable programs of educational and social events at monthly meetings.

What a lift for persons having heart problems, to see a healthy Mended Heart! Just being there, the Mended Heart gives the added strength the patient needs to overcome many doubts and fears. Families of patients need a very special kind of help too!
